AFKE: Travelling differently, from the Kyrgyz steppes

A Franco-Kyrgyz structure that reinvents travel by forging lasting links between peoples and mountains.

AFKE : Voyager autrement, depuis les steppes kirghizes | What The Web

Between the steppes of Kyrgyzstan and the backstreets of France, AFKE does much more than tourism. It builds human bridges, promotes know-how and weaves shared stories in the heart of a country as magnificent as it is little-known.

Tourism like no other

AFKE is the story of a meeting. Between two cultures, between two visions of the world, and above all between two desires: to discover differently and to act locally. From Kyrgyzstan, this Franco-Kyrgyz association sets up ecotourism tours that combine immersion, respect and solidarity. Far from standardized stays, it offers a different way of traveling, on a human scale and with a heart wide open.

Behind every trail, an encounter

AFKE offers more than just hiking itineraries and nights in a yurt. It's a shared adventure, built with local people. Each stage of the journey becomes an opportunity to discover a trade, a know-how, a daily life. From shepherds to weavers, via the hosts of isolated villages, the association gives us a glimpse of Kyrgyzstan from the inside, with sincere attention paid to the people who live there.

An ethical and committed approach

By focusing on ecotourism, AFKE defends a sustainable model that limits environmental impact while maximizing local benefits. The association provides training for Kyrgyz guides, supports women entrepreneurs, and ensures that everyone involved is fairly remunerated. It strengthens an entire ecosystem, through a committed and benevolent vision of travel.

A bridge between France and Kyrgyzstan

One of the pillars of AFKE is this strong link between the two countries. The association also hosts French volunteers in the field, organizes cultural exchanges and promotes a different image of Kyrgyzstan in France. A country often forgotten on the map, but rich in initiatives, knowledge and beauty that AFKE reveals with gentleness and humility.

Elsewhere is sometimes what brings us closer together

Through its travels, AFKE reenchants tourism and reminds us that we can still discover the world without consuming it. One foot in the mountains, the other in human encounters: what if this was travel from the heart?
