When the sky becomes accessible to all

Handiflight opens the doors of aviation to those who thought flying would remain a dream. Here, disability no longer limits horizons: it pushes them back. The aim? To prove that the skies belong to everyone, and to offer thrills to those who no longer dared to believe in them.

Quand le ciel devient accessible à tous | What The Web

Picture this: Firm hands on the stick, eyes on the horizon and heart beating to the rhythm of the engine. This is not a scene from a film, but the daily life of Handiflight pilots. This association pushes back the boundaries of inclusion by enabling people with disabilities to pilot their own aircraft. Yes, you read that right: fly. And not just for a lap around the runway, but sometimes to the ends of the earth.

The workshop where wings are born

In the hangars of Saint-Nazaire, a unique adventure is taking shape: building a kit plane, the MCR-4S. It's not just a technical project, it's a collective experience in which able-bodied and disabled people work together. Each piece assembled brings the association a little closer to its goal: to demonstrate that the sky has no borders.

A cockpit designed for everyone

Here, the controls are operated not with the feet, but with the hands. Thanks to the malonniers, pilots can maneuver the aircraft without using their legs. This ingenious and inclusive system makes flying accessible without compromising safety or performance. And the icing on the cake: the aircraft runs on E85 bioethanol, reducing its ecological footprint.

More than a flight: a mission

To be a Handiflight pilot is to become an ambassador for inclusion. Every takeoff, every landing, every kilometer flown sends a powerful message: differences should never ground anyone. Whether at air events or on discovery flights, the association thrills the public and breaks down prejudices.

Join the adventure: wings open to all

You don't have to be a pilot to join Handiflight. Photographers, mechanics, communicators or simple enthusiasts: every talent has its place. Volunteers are the driving force behind the association, contributing their energy to help the project gain momentum. And for those who dream of flying, the cockpit doors are just waiting to open.

Why this job is a dream

It's not just a story about airplanes. It's a story of freedom, of surpassing oneself and of dreams taking flight. To be a Handiflight pilot is to prove that nothing is impossible, while setting an inspiring course for all those who think they have limits. Because sometimes, all you have to do is look up to the sky to realize that there are none.
